MAX HALL JOINS MINI CHALLENGE JCW GRID WITH EXCELR8 FOR 2024

Max Hall will make a full-time move to the Vertu MINI CHALLENGE JCW in 2024 after inking a deal to join one of the series’ most successful teams, reigning champions EXCELR8.

The talented teenager, who is a former title winner in the Junior Saloon Car Championship, graduates to ultra-competitive tin top category off the back of an impressive maiden season in the MINI CHALLENGE Cooper class last year.

Scoring multiple race wins and podiums, as well as memorable pole positions at both Thruxton and Brands Hatch, Hall ended the year claiming runners-up laurels in the Rookie Cup and seventh in the overall championship.

In addition to his Cooper programme, the fledgling young racer also made his debut in the JCW class as he debuted with EXCELR8 at the 2023 season finale on the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit.

Despite only having a small amount of time behind the wheel prior to qualifying, the Halls Electrical-backed driver was able to qualify 14th and ultimately go on to clinch a top ten finish.

Off the back of that encouraging foray, Hall will now look to translate his form in the Cooper series into the JCW ranks - which once again features on the support bill of the British Touring Car Championship.

Max Hall: “It’s so exciting to know that I’ll be a part of the JCW grid on a full-time basis this year after making a successful one-off appearance at Brands Hatch in 2023. Considering I went into that weekend with no testing, scoring a top ten was absolutely amazing and it’s only left me more determined to keep progressing.

“EXCELR8 is a team that I have always wanted to work with and having had a brief opportunity to do just that last year, I can’t wait to see what we can achieve together this coming season.

“I’m aware that it’s a big step up from the Cooper, but I feel confident that I’m with the best team to help me work towards my goal of challenging for race wins and ultimately challenging for the championship title.”

The 2024 Vertu MINI CHALLENGE JCW season commences at Donington Park on 27-28 April.
