Max Hall is targeting three strong points finishes at Donington Park this weekend (27-28 April) as he launches his 2024 season in the Vertu MINI CHALLENGE JCW.
Teaming up with multiple champion EXCELR8 Motorsport, the 17-year-old embarks on the next step of his fledgling motorsport career on the grid of one of the UK’s most competitive categories.
The MINI CHALLENGE JCW - which features on the same bill as the coveted British Touring Car Championship - is regarded by many as a key stepping stone for tin top drivers that are looking to progress up the motorsport ladder.
Hall - who is backed by Halls Electrical, Durite, Brigade, Fischer Panda, PVL and Brandfixx - made waves in 2022 as he claimed the Junior Saloon Car Championship title before then stepping up to the MINI CHALLENGE Trophy last year, where he claimed a handful of wins.
The Motorsport UK Academy driver then made a one-off appearance in the JCW class at the end of 2023 at Brands Hatch. Treating the weekend as a taster for this year, the teenager impressed many as he powered his way to a top-ten finish.
Now locked in for a full campaign, the Bristolian is setting his sights on establishing himself as a force to be reckoned with towards the sharp end of the grid - starting this weekend at the world-famous Donington Park.
Max Hall: “It’s great to finally be able to kick off the new MINI CHALLENGE JCW season at Donington Park this weekend; it’s an exciting step in my motorsport career and one that I feel I’m ready to take on.
“The off-season has been really productive - both on and off the track - and everyone at EXCELR8 has been so welcoming. From now working with them you can see why they have had the levels of success that they’ve had - it’s pretty impressive.
“We’ve managed to get plenty of testing under our belts in recent weeks and every time I’ve gone out I’ve felt more comfortable with the car. I’ve been on the pace of my more experienced team-mates so that fills me with confidence; overall I feel like I’m in a good place.
“This weekend at Donington Park is going to be about just making sure that we string together three solid races. If we can put a solid haul of points on the board, and even pick up a trophy or two, that would be mega!”
The 2024 Vertu MINI CHALLENGE JCW commences at Donington Park on the 27-28 April, with all of Sunday’s races broadcast LIVE on ITV4.
